Boys’ varsity basketball gets their first win of the season at the GAC/Suburban Challenge

Pattonville boys’ basketball picked up their first win of the season beating Warrenton 78-59 in the GAC/Suburban Challenge at Lindenwood University.

Andre Webb led all scorers for Pattonville (1-6) scoring a season-high 20 points. Three other Pirates scored in the double-digits including senior Julius Erby with 11 and freshman Kellen Thames with 15 points. Levi Banks for Pattonville was also able to notch in another 13 points for his second double-digit performance of the season.

The Warriors (3-4) were able to get off to a 3-0 start but the Pirates bounced back with a 12-2 run and the Pirates led the rest of the way. Pattonville was able to maintain the lead and slowly built up a 39-26 halftime score behind Webb’s last-second 3-point shot to end the first half.

Senior guard Jake Tonioli scored the game-high for the Warriors with 27 points. Following behind him were junior guard Travis Toebben with 13 and forward Sam Smith with 11.

The Pirates (1-6) next play at home against Jennings (3-1) on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. The game will be live streamed on Facebook and on PattonvilleTODAY.com.
