Pattonville boys are looking forward to another successful season. With a new team made up of some returning members and a some new added pieces, the team is looking at a team possibly better than last year.

According to Pattonville basketball player Umar Barrie, a senior, he has strong goals for the season. “My personal goals are to be Conference champs and District champs as well as State champs,” Barrie said.

Gregory Jordan, also a senior on the Pirates Basketball team, has some similar goals in mind. “I want us to win Conference and Districts again and make a run for State and I want to build myself more and become a better player every day,” Jordan said.

This team has a lot of challenges to overcome such as chemistry with each other and knowing how to play with each other and as a team. In addition, with the school and staff expecting another great season they have to perform at high standards.

“The chemistry is great because we have all been playing with each other since our freshman year,” Barrie said.

Another thing about this 2021-2022 basketball team is that they have a whole new group of players with added pieces to the puzzle who could be assets to the team.

“We have a couple new players joining the team, and we have a total of nine seniors on the team this year, and it’s a special team in my eyes,” Jordan explained.

With all that being said the Pattonville Pirates have a lot of up side with some tough challenges ahead of them. They have the potential to be the best basketball team in school history.
