Virtual Learning Called as MHPD Searches for Five Armed Suspects
Five subjects have been arrested following a shooting at Cracker Barrel in St. Charles just before 5:30 am this morning.
According to the St. Charles Police Department, a Cracker Barrel employee was taking out the trash early this morning when he saw a group of individuals tampering with a car. The employee yelled at the individuals, and then one of the individuals fired at the employee, shooting him in the arm and torso. The suspects then fled the scene in a grey Nissan.
The car was stopped by police on the side of I-70 just before I-270, when three males got out and ran. There was a heavy police presence as the Maryland Heights Police Department along with the St. Charles Police Department looked for the suspects. As of 8:35 am, all five suspects are in custody.
Due to the proximity of the active police search, Pattonville High School, along with Rose Acres Elementary School and Holman Middle School, called a virtual learning day just before 6:40 am. Students that were picked up by school buses were returned home.
