There’s no mystery that Miley Cyrus’ song “Flowers” has similar lyrics to one of Bruno Mars’ hit song “When I Was Your Man.” Although, people are wondering what the connections are and why it feels Miley is shading someone. Fans are speculating that there might be some sort of message behind the song. Fans are starting to reveal that “Flowers” may be written to shade her ex-husband, Liam Hemseworth.

Miley Cyrus released a single on January 13, 2023 and after only about 7 days, Miley hit a huge milestone and “Flowers” became the most-streamed song in a singular week in spotify history.

As some know Liam Hemswroth’s birthday is January 13, fans quickly jumped on this and revealed that with the song being released on his birthday, there are many references to Miley and Liam’s relationship. Fans also found that her lyrics are pointing out previous events that the couple has attended together. But how does “Flowers” connect to “When I Was Your Man?”

Fans recognize that Liam dedicated ‘When I was your man’ to Miley at their wedding in 2018. It has also been said that Bruno’s song resembled the couple’s relationship and the song isn’t far off from how it ended.

“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”
Even with all the rumors and gossip, Miley’s new single hit great milestones and has been said it might just be one of the top 2023 smashes. It has already reached over 100 million streams in just a week after being released. Despite the speculations, neither Liam or Miley have responded or commented on the fans connections between the song and their previous relationship. In regards to the similarities of Miley and Bruno’s songs, they both have made fans excited and are both very popular songs.
