Link Crew was established as part of the ‘Every Student, Every Day’ vision implemented by the PHS administration this school year. The A program is designed to help strengthen and reinforce the administration’s efforts to help freshmen be more connected to the faculty and their peers.
Pattonville High School’s building administration was the driving force behind the vision as a whole. “We’re implementing the ‘Link Crew’ program for freshmen, which really provides each freshmen homeroom with a group of leaders identified from 11th and 12th graders,” Teisha Ashford, Pattonville’s building principal, said.
Part of Link Crew is to help encourage freshmen to broaden their horizons and explore their interests with our many afterschool programs and activities. “Join a club, join a sport, or if those are too much just be present for school events like football games or any of the upcoming homecoming activities,” Link Crew leader, and senior, Morgan Walker said. School climate surveys conducted last year indicated that interpersonal connections were a need that wasn’t being addressed, and in response, Link Crew was born. “We are expected to set an example for the 9th graders by creating a fun and inviting atmosphere to get them as acclimated as possible to high school,” Walker said.
