Prop S is a bond issue that passed in April of 2022. The funds generated have gone toward all Pattonville schools to add classrooms, improve safety and security, and make improvements.
“This project gives Pattonville school district the chance to really grow even more and redesign itself,” said associate principal Gene Grimshaw.
The work to be completed in Prop S is separated into three phases. Over the summer, the high school finally saw some of the work planned begin to be completed.
For the high school specifically, there have been updates to the science labs and the family and consumer classrooms. The cafeteria was also reconstructed to create more space for tables during lunch sessions. Phase 3 of Prop S includes work to the front of the building, improvements to industrial classrooms, and new classroom furniture. College and Career Counselor Mrs. Luraschi gave her thoughts on how much these new improvements are going to benefit the students’ overall experience.
“Prop S is going to not only help the outside view of Pattonville but most importantly the students. The students are what make the school, so it’s important that they have the best experience possible with the best equipment”.
This is a long-term project that the Pattonville school district will continue to work on until 2027.
