Kelly Allensworth is one of the new history teachers at Pattonville High School. This is her first teaching job out of college.
Why did you choose to teach history?
“I just think history is the most interesting. It’s the easiest subject to make really creative.”
What made you come to Pattonville?
“I heard really good things about the school. It is a good school and everyone here seems really nice.”
How do you make history engaging for kids who find history boring?
“I try to get them to move around a lot and talk to each other. I’m really into class discussion, and I do a lot of simulation games where I put them in the time period.”
