Meet Kendress Hughes, our newest addition to the nursing department here at the high school, but she’s been in our district for 24 years. She was at Parkwood Elementary before her transition.

Why did you decide that Pattonville is a place you want to be?
“During my interview, I just had this feeling that this was the place for me. I had never
felt that way before. I received confirmation that this was my next appointment; it was more so spiritual.”
What impact would you like to make here at Pattonville?
“Allowing all students to know that they have support here, and me being part of that support. They have in me not just a nurse but a person who truly cares about them. I’m a person who cares about their growth in every aspect and a person who wants to see them succeed.”
What experiences made you want to start helping people?
“I can’t say that it was a single experience. I believe it’s just a part of my purpose because each step and position that I take, my walk is always helping others, whether I’m on the clock or on my own time, at home. It’s just who I am and I know it’s a part of my purpose.”
