The annual Mr. PHS competition hosted by the National Honor Society is right around the corner. The nomination forms recently became available for any male upperclassman who wants to represent their club or sport.

The male beauty pageant is hosted at the end of each February; it has become a highly-anticipated event amongst the Pattonville student body over the past 11 years of it being hosted.

Each year, the contestants prepare for the modeling, talent, and Q&A portions of the competition. However, the seniors who participated their junior year have a slight advantage due to their experience with being on stage.

Senior Yohanes Mulat competed last year as Mr. BSAAC and is excited to be a part of it again.

“Because I did it my junior year, I already know the judges,” he said. “I feel good going in knowing that I’m a veteran.”

Although all organizations are encouraged to have a participant, there is a limited amount of spots for those wanting to enter in the competition. The deadline for the participation forms is Feb. 2, but the National Honor Society sponsors recommend turning in the information as soon as possible.

This year’s Mr. PHS is to be crowned on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium.
