For the first time in forever, Pattonville School District canceled classes on Thursday, Nov. 15, due to snow. With about 6 inches of snow, all Pattonville buildings were closed.

Everyone around the school district enjoyed their day off for the first time in over a year. There were no snow days during the 2017-2018 school year.

Some people slept in since the cancellation came on Wednesday night, but others went out to enjoy the snow.

Junior Vincent Abuelo had fun with his friends.

“We went to Apple Tree Park to go sledding,” he said. “When we got there, we saw a bunch of seniors and we got into a huge snowball fight.”

Senior Kyle Guard’s day didn’t go as planned but was still enjoyable.

“Me and my friend tied a sled to my car and ended up falling off,” he said. “It hurt a bit.”

But senior Allison Brown used the snow day to the greatest advantage.

“I went to the Payne Gentry House and my mom’s friend Kelley Villinger took some pictures of me for my senior year.”
