Meet new teacher: Ms. Lindsey Williams

Students may recognize new teacher Ms. Lindsey Williams. They’re not crazy. She taught at Pattonville last year as a half-day teacher/substitute. This year, she makes the jump to full-time English teacher.

Being a teacher wasn’t always her plan though.

“My dream job was to be on Broadway somehow,” Williams said. “I was really hoping in high school that I would magically develop acting and singing skills.”

While this obviously didn’t happen, her realistic dream came true when she walked into the high school last year.

“I love the atmosphere here,” she said. “There’s a lot of school spirit and the students have positive attitudes.”

When deciding what kind of teacher to become, English was really the only option. Growing up, English was a great strength of hers. She loved reading, and Harry Potter was important to her evidenced by the essay attached to her door entitled “Why Everybody Should Read Harry Potter.”

An interesting fact about Williams is that she has a tattoo on her foot, and she’s not shy about it because it’s a constant reminder for her to stay upbeat and never get too down on things.

“It’s a quote from Lucille Ball from the show ‘I Love Lucy,'” she said. “It says ‘Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.”
