Pattonville High School’s homecoming is on October 12th.
Finding the perfect homecoming dress is important to a girl but everyone has her own preferences whether it’s blue, black, short or long.
Kirby McClain said her preference is a dress that is not strapless, red lace, one shoulder, and short.
Other girls like Emily Hayes prefers a one strap that is short and black with a loose sleeve.
Some students may also have a hard time trying to find a dress.
If you can’t find that perfect dress, repurposing a dress is another idea.
Mrs. Wiengart our FACS sewing teacher said, “Depending on what you have to work with, and how creative you are, depends on how you repurpose a dress. Students can use the fabric, and make a new style out of it. They can also remove sleeves, or add extra decoration/ruffles.”
Repurposing a dress can take up to eight to ten hours. Having a teacher or a friend that has taken sewing will be the best help. Having working knowledge about how clothes go together and how to get it on your body makes repurposing your dress an easier process.
