Last year’s production of the Sound of Music was highly praised, and this year’s production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka could go beyond that.
Pattonville’s rendition of Willy Wonka will run from Feb. 12-15 and will include many original concepts.
“It’s now filled with synchronized dancing and singing,” sophomore Abby Schnable said, who plays an Oompa Loompa. “It also has glow-in-the-dark bubbles and a trampoline, along with all the surprises and jokes.”
So why should you go see it? Some of the members of the production gave a few reasons:
Kyle Brunts, 12 (Stage Manager) – “The cast, crew and teacher sponsors have put in countless hours to make the story come to life within the walls of the auditorium.”
Jessi Reynolds, 12 (Matilda) – “It’s a classic story that everyone knows and loves, and it teaches lessons while being really fun and entertaining.”
Kalen Riley, 12 (Willy Wonka) – “There are a plethora of reasons to see it: You support Pattonville, you get to appreciate fine arts, and you get to see the final product of three months of work in a matter of an hour-and-a-half.”
Jazmine Webber, 11 (Mrs. Bucket) – “Willy Wonka brings its’ audience into a wonderful world of dreams and imagination. It’s perfect for all ages, cause after all, who doesn’t like candy?”
Sophie Vik, 10 (Veruca Salt) – “It’s a great way to see the talent we have at our school and to support the school’s activities the same way the sports are supported.”
Savannah McAllister, 9 (Oompa Loompa) – “It’s filled with SWEET surprises that are sure to thrill everyone of all ages.”
There will be a total of four shows and one showcase for elementary students. The main shows will be Feb. 12-14 at 7 p.m. and a final showing will be Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. All productions will be in the Pattonville Community Auditorium.
