The new field that has been in construction for almost a year now is starting to take shape.
The goal posts and the scoreboard were recently put in. The field itself is close to being completed and provides a greener-than-grass appearance and the new track with no new rubber yet is installed around it. The end zones are decorated with diamonds each featuring a letter from the word Pirates.
Currently the locker rooms are being worked on. The walls for them have been placed already and soon a roof and more details such as lockers and paint will be added. The grand stands are not being built yet but part of the base it will sit on is completed. A brick wall with rounded edges outlines how wide the stands will be.
No athletic games have yet been played on the field during the 2011-2012 school year but it will be in full use beginning next year.
