“The drill teams are currently preparing for the 38th annual Variety Show,” Katie Funderburk, head coach of Pattonville High School’s Varsity Drill Team, said.
Funderburk is noticeably happy when she speaks about her team since the VDT won 10th place at Nationals in Orlando, Fla.
“The varsity drill team puts on the Variety Show each year to give its teams and school groups a chance to perform one final time before the end of the year,” Funderburk said.
The JV and varsity teams are a part of the Variety Show.
“VDT members choreograph some of the routines, I choreograph some, and professional choreographers choreograph competition routines,” Funderburk said.
Funderburk’s goal for her team next year is to continue to improve technique and come together as a team.
