SPEAK, Pirate Code, Renaissance, and STUCO are hosting a follow-up assembly to Rachel’s Challenge. Members will be performing skits to show the damaging effects of bullying.
The bullying however is not subject to physical but also hurtful words that stick with people. The message is that even if YOU personally do not see bullying at PHS it is still there. It shows that rumors, pushing, shoving, name calling, and racial/sexual preference slurs happen more often than you think. There is a short introduction that will show victims of suicides. The message’s intent is to be thought provoking and make you truly watch what you say because you never know the damage that someone can take from a simple: “You’re stupid”, “You’re ugly”, even push or a shove to just shake them up for the day.
