The curtain is finally opening on the Pirate Players winter production of Curtains. Curtains is a musical comedy whodunit from the creators of “Cabaret” and “Chicago.”
Jessica Crenshaw (played by Karrie Henderson) is an untalented lead to the show Robbin’ Hood of the Old West and is murdered during her opening night curtain call. Lieutenant Frank Cioffi (played by William Pirrie) comes to solve the case, and he, being a fan of theater, also works to save the show.
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, the full company of Curtains had a final dress rehearsal where they ran the full show in costume and makeup.
“After that performance, I see a lot of promise in the show. It can only go up from there,” junior Tamia Tyler said. “I already know for a fact that we will do great, but it is always exciting to see what the crowd does and does not react to.”
The show is scheduled for Feb. 16-18 in the high school auditorium with a start time of 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. Tickets can be picked up from Ms. Lara Corvera in room A213 or at the box office which opens one hour before the show. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
