Pattonville varsity football had its first home game of the season on August 25 against Mehlville. It was also the Pirates first win of the year improving to 1-1  with a 34-14 victory against the Panthers.

With all of the votes made on the KSDK Game of the Week poll, sports reporter Frank Cusumano broadcasted from the stadium live during the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts spotlighting the band, cheerleaders, and drill team. Highlights from the game were shown during the 10 p.m. news.
