Field hockey gears up to travel to Kansas City

This weekend, the JV and varsity field hockey teams will be traveling to compete in three games against two different teams from Kansas City, Missouri.

On Friday, they’ll play Pembroke Hill High School. Then on Saturday, they’ll play Notre Dame De Sion, and will play Pembroke Hill again later that afternoon.

Junior captain Mikayla Bridges said the games should be close.

“Last year, the games were really close which made them fun to play in,” she said. “I’m really excited to see how they turn out this year.”

Junior Taylor Wooten said she expects the games to go great.

“Our skills have really improved since the beginning of the season, and also because we’ve played with each other for a while and we know exactly how everyone plays.”

Beyond the games, the team is mostly excited just to travel out-of-town for competition. Wooten is one of the biggest fans of away games.

“I like traveling because the bus rides are always lit and everyone gets along so well,” shes said. “And because of the snacks obviously.”

Check back next week to find out how the girls played.
