Amy Schwendemann has been working at Pattonville High School as a Physics 1 and Geology/Astronomy teacher for 11 years now. Schwendemann also tutors students who need help with the subjects and is excited to start the new year with all the changes that were made at Pattonville.
Jessica Vargas: When and how did you find out you wanted to be a teacher?
Amy Schwendemann: Walking across campus my senior year of college. I completed a degree in sports medicine that year and then a year later went back to become a teacher.
JV: Are you going to do anything differently in teaching your students this year?
AS: With the new computers this year, I’m sure I will change a few things.
JV: What’s your opinion on the changes and improvements Pattonville made for this year?
AS: I think this will be a big learning year with the computers and Moodle. I also think the new stadium and the pool will be great.
JV: Do you enjoy your job?
AS: I love my job!
JV: Have you always worked as a teacher here at Pattonville High School?
AS: Yes, I have always worked at the high school.
