Jones joining Navy
National Decision Day isn’t all about college. It’s also a day to celebrate the people who are going into a trade or the military.
In today’s generation, there is a lot less pressure on just going to college, and trade schools and the military are being embraced and looked at as a worthy option.
For senior Chad Jones, he is joining the U.S. Navy.
“I decided to join the Navy because not only does it help me pay for college, I can gain valuable experience to help me in the real world after high school,” Jones said. “I ship in August and I can’t wait.
He said it’ll be hard, but it will set him up for great things in the future.
“I hope to become a Navy SEAL one day and I’ve already started training for it,” Jones said. “I’m currently in the SEAL pool and on Thursdays, I go and train with them. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it’ll pay off one day.”
