Eric Thomas, captain of the Pattonville varsity wrestling team, wrestles in his last home meet ever on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Thomas’s goal is to reach 100 career wins by the end of the season. He is currently only three short.
Thomas has been wrestling for 10 years and really enjoys the sport.
“Making sure everyone makes weight, keeps their grades up, and is not messing around are some of my responsibilities as captain, and it’s not always easy,” Thomas said.
His motivation for wrestling is his family, and most of all, his uncle that passed away who was a great wrestler.
Since this is his last year at Pattonville, he hopes to do big things this season, which includes possibly going to State.
Out of his 36 matches so far, Thomas is 29-7. He has confidence in his team and how they will finish out the season.
