The Woman in Black hit theatres Feb. 3 and is not recommended for the faint of heart.
It tells the story of Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a widowed father whose wife died in childbirth. All he has left is his four-year old son, Joseph (Misha Handley). Kipps works as a lawyer, and his latest assignment is to sell the house of a recently deceased woman.
Kipps soon comes to learn that the locals are hiding something terrible from him. He spends a week alternating from the house to the village, soon uncovering what the horrible secret is: the house is haunted by the woman, who is searching for someone or something.
Until she finds what she’s looking for, no one is safe.
The Woman in Black is rated PG-13 for thematic material and violent/disturbing images. This movie deserves a 3.5 out of 5 because Radcliffe does an amazing job playing his role, and it is a good movie, but it should be rated R. It creates constant fear and suspense, which is good, but it’s a little inappropriate for PG-13.
