Ice for Pirates

Another group of Pirates came to St. Louis this weekend.  But these Pirates were on skates. Captain Hook and his band of misfits attempted to defeat his nemesis Peter Pan at the Chaifetz Arena on the Saint Louis University campus.

Disney on Ice showcased a plethora of classic Disney movies.  This show wasn’t just for little children; there was something for everyone.  Along with the amazing ice skating talents, an interesting history lesson on Walt Disney was given and a modern take appeared as Tik Tok by Ke$ha was played during the Alice in Wonderland segment.

Disney on Ice: Treasure Trove was the perfect name for this show as people’s all-time favorite Disney moments and characters were portrayed.  The show included Alice being chased by the Red Queen and a very colorful deck of cards, Peter Pan saving Wendy and the Lost Boys with the help of Tinker Bell and a gargantuan inflatable crocodile, and Sebastian leading the crowd in the song ‘Under the Sea’ from The Little Mermaid.

Additionally, Aladdin rode in on an elephant and dazzled the crowd and Princess Jasmine with his magic carpet, and Simba has his discovery of ‘Hakuna Matata.”

Overall, the beautiful choreography to the many cherished love ballads of Disney movies made this show very enjoyable.
