Ashford was chosen to fill the role of Chief of Schools for Ferguson-Florissant School District next year and the job opening for her current position of high school principal is posted on the Pattonville Human Resources website. Once candidates have been selected, staff and student input will be taken into consideration during the selection process.
According to Pattonville School District’s Chief Communications Officer, Kelly Gordon, “students were sent a survey [February 3] asking for input to help build a candidate profile for the new principal that will help in the selection process.”
As of the department leader meeting on February 11, over 400 students had responded to the survey.
Ashford has worked for Pattonville School District for 22 years, serving as high school principal for 5. She wants her successor to continue to be compassionate and carry her legacy that she hopes to have left.
“I would want us to continue a tradition of caring for the community enough to work hard and to make the school and the district one that the community would be proud of,” Ashford said.
