There’s a future for students in school

FEA, or Future Educators Association, is a club preparing high school students for a teaching career.

Ms. Julia Weingart sponsors Pattonville’s FEA and it is always accepting new members.

The students attended a conference in Jefferson City on Nov. 28 which included breakout sessions, a tour of the Missouri State Capitol, officer elections, a session titled Ethical Dilemma: Cyberbullying on Facebook, lunch and a keynote address from FEA National Vice President Chrish Johnson, a 2012 Pattonville graduate.

The next big planned activity is in April. Students all over America involved in FEA will attend the national conference in Florida. Students will participate in workshops and members can choose to run for President, Vice President, Senate, and Representative for NFEA, or National Future Educators Association.
