With sports and school, Barringhaus says, “What free time?”

Have you ever felt like you don’t have any time to do your homework? How about never having time to just relax? Kristin Barringhaus, a sophomore at PHS, knows exactly what that feels like.

Barringhaus is involved with two sports this season: Playing field hockey for Pattonville and playing soccer with her club team.

She said she really enjoys both sports and didn’t want to have to choose just one when she got to high school last fall. The conflicts are minimal, and if there are any problems, she works out an agreement with her coaches until they are both happy.

With having field hockey practice or games every day after school, soccer practice 5 days a week, and enrolled in advanced classes at Pattonville, it’s pretty easy to see how she might get stressed. However, she has ways to manage her time.

“I do a lot of homework in the car on my way back and forth between sports,” Barringhaus said. “Sometimes I just have to lose some sleep to finish it all.”

When asked what she does in her free time, Barringhaus said, “What free time?”
