Pattonville girls’ varsity soccer advances in the state tournament after a 3-0 victory over Parkway Central in the District Championship Game.
Pirates (20-5-1) will now face Hazelwood Central (8-12) in the Class 3 Championship Bracket on May 21. Time and location to be determined.
On May 17, it only took 2:04 for the Pirates to take the lead against Parkway Central with an Ashanti Carey goal. Megan Anth added another just 5:52 into the game.
Kayla Benoit recorded yet another shutout this season supported by the Pirates defense and a lack of Colt offensive chances.
Anth added a second goal with just 4 seconds remaining securing the win for the Pirates.
This is the fifth consecutive District championship won by Coach Tom Iffrig’s team.
The winner of the Pattonville/Hazelwood Central game advances to play on May 25 against the winner of the Seckman (14-7)/Eureka (18-1-1) game.
