“Dark meat, white meat, pumpkin pie, turkey, dressing, piled up high.”
So goes the words of a favored children’s holiday song. Students around Pattonville High School are excitedly anticipating Thanksgiving break. After months of school, a two-day break is what students need to get their head back in the game for school.
“School has been stressful with all my AP classes so I’m excited to spend time with family, eat some pie, and play football,” junior Danielle Nagelvoort said.
With non-stop homework, tests, and quizzes, most students are ‘hitting the wall’ with motivation.
“I think this two-day break will give me a nice rest from school and enough time to get my motivation back for school,” Nagelvoort added.
Now that break is here, students are getting ready. “I wake up at five in the morning to cook delicious things with my momma,” junior Canaan Kerr said about the day of Thanksgiving. “That night, we eat a delicious meal and talk about what we are thankful for.”
Between making food and giving thanks, is the famous Black Friday sales. This year, stores are starting the sales Thanksgiving night with crazy deals and clearances.
“I go Black Friday shopping every Thanksgiving break,” junior Danielle Hayes said. “This year I’m going out with my friends in the search of a TV.”
