Find new music that you will like

IMG_6881In this day of age, almost everybody listens to music. Whether it’s hip-hop, rap, rock, or country, a lot of people have their own opinions on the certain genres of music. Though it seems the generation of teenagers listen to music the most, they are not the only ones that listen to music as adults like to jam out to their favorite songs on the radio.

If you listen to the classic rock groups like Nirvana or Elvis Presley, you aren’t the only one – teacher Mr. Reynolds prefers to listen to the classic rock ‘n roll and sometimes listens to newer rock.

“It’s tough to say what my favorite music artist is because there are so many and I can’t just pick one,” Reynolds said. “For new listeners, I would recommend anything from The Beatles because that is where it all came from.”

Hip-hop and rap is a very popular genre in the music industry right now. Though not everyone may like the certain things that these artists do, people still chose to listen to it.

Sophomore Alex Eaglehart listens to this kind of music throughout the day.

“I like to listen to rap and hip-hop because I like the beats that the songs have and it’s cool listening to rap artists rhyme really fast while still making sense in the lyrics,” Eaglehart said.

There are many artists in that genre of music like Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Eminem and Kid Cudi.

“I listen to a lot of different rap artists, but if I had to choose my favorite, it would probably be TECH N9NE because they create a lot of great beats and songs,” Eaglehart said. “For people that are new to this genre, I would recommend Wiz Khalifa or Kid Cudi because they are very popular.”
