Coming to Pattonville for a better education

Pattonville is one of the many school districts that accepted transfer students from the unaccredited Riverview Gardens and Normandy school districts. Students in those school districts applied to switch schools in order to get a better education and better opportunities, but not everyone was able to make the move.
Dylan Roland, a junior, who went to Riverview and CBC last year applied to attend Pattonville High School.
“I like this school. I really do. I feel like being here opens up many more doors for me,” Roland said. “I like the whole vibe of this school and I like how everything is under control. It has changed me to better me.”
He likes how the teachers actually teach and encourage the students to listen to get a better education and how he feels safer in school.
While he is at school, he is able to get more things processed in class and sees all of the progress he is making.

He said, “My grades have went up to now As and Bs from being Ds and Fs.”
But the move between districts wasn’t completely easy.
“The bad thing about switching schools is that Riverview is years behind Pattonville and it’s hard trying to do work when the same thing was not taught last year.”
