Teacher and Support Staff of the Year nominations now being accepted

Teacher of the YearNominations are now being accepted for Pattonville School District’s Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Employee of the Year.

Forms are available by PDF download or you can nominate someone online by clicking here.

Nominations must be submitted online or delivered to the Community Relations Office at the Learning Center by the end of the day on Friday, Feb. 7.

The Pattonville School District is seeking nominations for the district’s Teacher of the Year. Pattonville will select a Teacher of the Year from each grade level – high school, middle school and elementary school. One of these three will be selected to enter the Missouri Teacher of the Year program sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in conjunction with the National Teacher of the Year program. The winners will be honored during District Appreciation Night.

Nominees should be skilled, dedicated teachers who plan to continue teaching as a career. They should have the respect and admiration of students, parents and colleagues. They should play active roles in their community, offering service and leadership in civic, religious or humanitarian activities, as well as in school. They should be poised and articulate and have the energy to withstand a busy schedule, plus the ability to meet people easily. Please use the form link above to nominate your candidate. Note: Counselors, librarians and instructional specialists are now eligible according to state and national guidelines. Persons in administrative or supervisory positions, as well as persons who will retire or resign at the end of the year and previous district winners and those with a Performance Improvement Plan are not eligible. Previous elementary, middle school and high school winners are eligible. Nominations must be submitted by February 7, 2014.

The Pattonville School District is seeking nominations for the district’s Support Employee of the Year program. This recognition program is designed to honor outstanding support employees. All non-supervisory support employees are eligible. This includes nurses, secretaries, clerks, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, mechanics, custodians, print shop technicians, paraprofessionals, parent educators, and maintenance and warehouse personnel. Employees with a Performance Improvement Plan are not eligible for the award.

Key criteria for the award include commitment, human relations skills, loyalty, dedication and organizational/work skills as they relate to the overall positive educational climate of Pattonville. Please provide as many details as possible regarding your nominee. Nominations forms will be reviewed by a selection committee, which will select the Support Employee of the Year based on the nomination forms, the nominees’ response to a questionnaire and personal interviews of the finalists. The winner will be recognized at District Appreciation Night. Nominations must be submitted by February 7, 2014.
