Balancing school, work, and extracurricular activities is a daily task for sophomore Summer Parker. Parker not only takes honors classes, but also works at Bridgeton Aquatic Center and is a member of the Varsity Drill Team.
“I mean, I really don’t have a lot of extra time in my day,” Parker said. “Especially with the Drill Team’s intense practice schedule.”
Varsity Drill Team practices every day after school, with the exception of Fridays, in which they usually have to perform at a football game.
It’s an understatement to say Parker has her hands full and can get stressed at times.
“It does get stressful at times but I have a planner that I fill out every day to keep my mind on track of what I have planned that day.”
She not only carries the planner with her 24/7 but has a digital version of it on her phone. Since she relies so heavily on it, she never wants to be without it.
“My advice to anyone would be to stay organized and not bite off more than you can chew.”
