Senior Cyrah Bryant is the only senior on the Pattonville varsity girls’ basketball team and her teammates made sure it was a memorable night.
On Thursday, Feb. 19, the only soon-to-be-graduate got to celebrate her Senior Night with a 48-46 victory against Ritenour High School.
Bryant said Senior Night was pretty fun and was excited to get the start in her final regular season game at home.
“It was kind of awkward because I was the only senior, so I was a little lonely, but my teammates made the best of it,” Bryant said. “I appreciated everything I got. I am going to really miss playing basketball and my teammates because we are like sisters.”
The Pirates built a 25-19 lead at the half, but it was just a 2-point difference going into the 4th quarter. Pattonville and Ritenour each tallied 13 points in the final quarter of play and the Pirates held on for the win.
Freshman guard Tyra Brown led the team with 16 points and juniors Marnae Brown (13 points) and Cassie Callahan (11 points) both added double-digits.
Bryant struggled to score in this outing going 0-for-3 from the field. She came up short missing the first shot of the game and didn’t get any points in her last regular-season game of high school.
Ritenour’s leading scorer was Dannie Millett who scored 15 points shooting 6-for-18 on the night.
