Robotics meet location switched due to football game

The Robotics competition scheduled for Saturday has been moved from the high school to Pattonville Heights Middle School.

The cause of the change in locations is the football semifinal playoff game being played also on Nov. 18 at the high school.

The 27-team Robotics competition beginning at 10 a.m. was scheduled in advance, but with thousands of people expected to show up for the playoff football game at 1 p.m., administrators saw parking as an issue.

They said it would require a great deal of parking spaces and there is not enough room for both events to be held at the same location.

The Robotics meet starts at 10 a.m. and is expected to last until 2 p.m. and the football game starts at 1 p.m.

Considering that the Robotics meet and the football game are happening near the same time, parking will be very limited at the high school and at the overflow parking lot at Grace Church. They want as much parking as they can get for the football game.

“They want every available parking spot,” said sophomore Kyle Wright, a member of the Pattonville Robotics team.

Switching the location of the Robotics meet to Heights Middle School allows both events to have enough parking.
