Tutoring help available for free to all students

The school year has kicked off earlier than ever before and students are eager to get back into the swing of things.

“I’m excited to be back but most of my teachers are already piling on the work sooner than I’d like!,” Yasmin Cornejo, a senior, said.

With so much to get involved in and keep track of, it is important to know some tips and tricks to get things done quickly, efficiently, and have fun in the process.

The most important place for students to know about because of its great resources is the library. Located between the art and math hallways, it holds free tutoring every day from 2:13 to 4 p.m. Teachers from each department stay after school to help students with homework assignments and to help them prepare for tests.

According to Flores, it’s a nice, quiet environment for studying and reviewing for test.

“I love having the resources I need right at my finger tips and a calm, quiet environment to study in,” Flores said. “There were times I aced really tough tests thanks to studying a few days a week.”

No ride? No worries! There is a 4 p.m. bus for all students willing to stay after for tutoring.

Another advantage to take ahold of is the math help center now located in H112. This is the go-to-place for all your arithmetic questions and concerns.

Bridget Davis said, “The math teachers are really cool and they have more time to help individuals after school.” She added that the math teachers are helpful and will make sure that students leave understanding what in the world their math teacher is talking about in class.

Open before school at 6:30 a.m., during first and second lunch periods in addition to being open after school, there’s sure to be a time students needing help can stop by.

Teachers want to remind students to not be shy about asking for help because many students come to these spots every day to work and study with teachers.

These two places will ensure success and the best part about them is there is no charge to the student.
