There are many clubs to join at Pattonville. From the vast choices a student can make, it can be hard to pick just one. But if you like to argue, then debate is for you.

Debate could be an outlet for the need to argue. As an added bonus, the class is a requirement for graduation at Pattonville. If you are worried that you won’t know what to say, student find and use evidence through research that can help provide support in your case. Debate takes a lot of dedication. Reading stacks of paper as evidence to flowing your debate takes major skills. Fast thinking is a quality you must have in order to succeed.

Mr. Randy Pierce is the guy to talk to if you are interested in debate. Pierce’s room is located on the bridge.

Senior Daniel Musselwhite, debate team member, said the hard thing about being in debate is “definitely being confident because without confidence you can’t give good speeches or good arguments.”

Musselwhite has been doing debate since his sophomore year.

Currently people in this group are getting ready for state and national competitions. The team will be in action March 9-10 at Pattonville High School.
