MSHSAA posted this bracket to its website showing the schedule of the Class 5 District 3 tournament to be held at Parkway North High School.

The varsity boys’ basketball team ended the regular season with a record of 11-11 and finished third in conference. When the Class 5 District 3 tournament kicks off next week at Parkway North, the Pirates will have a No. 4 seed.

Head coach Kelly Thames predicts there will be stiff competition from the other schools.

“We played Parkway North (10-13) during the regular season and we only beat them by one point,” Thames said. “It’s going to be a tough game because now it’s at their place.”

Last year, the team ended its regular season 18-7 and lost in the first round of the Class 5 District 4 tournament to Parkway West (11-13).

“I think we can get out the first round and hopefully play in the semifinals against CBC (17-7).”
