Russell Brand turned himself into the New Orleans Police after a warrant for his arrest was released on Tuesday, March 13. A reporter claimed that Brand had thrown his cellphone through a window. Brand is now being held in custody.
A report states that Brand had taken a paparazzi’s cellphone as the man was beginning to record him. Brand threw the cellphone through the window of a nearby building.
Although Brand has not directly stated his side of the incident, he made tried to make some light humor about the situation over Twitter, saying, “Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”
The public may not know what Brand was trying to keep from them by throwing the video, but he ironically made the news none the less.
