The Wild West Won Once Before

Roaming cattle, mustangs stomping the hills, and the cowboys shooting up the saloons. Something you most likely have not seen on TV since the 60s or 70s. What ever happened to the Old Western movies and shows, I don’t know, but they were great. Nothing was better on TV than Bonanza, Gunsmoke, or Rio Bravo.

It’s sad to have seen the genre of movies disappear over the past few decades, but they still live on today. Plenty of people are watching John Wayne, James Arness, and Michael Landon. The problem is, nothing new has been made since their times on the big screen.

The westerns resembled a period of time in America when things were uncontrolled, and a “do what ever you want” feeling was portrayed.

That’s partly what people loved about them, knowing that in our own country only about 100-150 years ago you could do as you please. Westerns also represented American history. Famous 1800s and early 1900s battles were fought in some shows and movies, as well as on radio stations in the 30s and 40s.

What I want to see is the westerns brought back to life because you got more out of it than just a simple action movie. Now seems the best time to do such a thing since the movie directors and producers are just remaking old films, but in 3D.
