When the snow comes, the students will play

Here in St.Louis, when the cold weather comes, the snow and ice follows. And if we have snow or ice falling from the sky on a Sunday night, or any night of the week other than Friday, there’s always a chance of a snow day.

Snow days can be fun or boring all depending upon what you do during your time off. Some people like to sit home under a blanket and watch TV, but some like to go sledding or go out and enjoy the snow.

Recently Pattonville called off school because of a snow and ice storm. School was called off early in the morning so some students got to sleep in while others were already up starting to get ready. Many students breathed a sigh of relief, because when expecting a snow day, students tend not to do their homework the night before. Maybe not the best idea but in this case they were fortunate to have school called off.

There wasn’t really enough snow for students to go sledding so students had to find something else to do on their snow day.

Junior Chaney Sinovich stayed in and just watched movies.

Some students at Pattonville don’t get the chance to do what they want on a snow day, though most students do have ideal activities for snow days,

“My ideal snow day would be sledding, hot chocolate or just a gym day,” Sinovich said.

Though snow days can be fun they can also prove to be hazardous making the roads tougher to drive on, which is a factor that plays into Pattonville making the decision to call off school or not.
