The Pattonville varsity cheerleading squad won 5th in the state competition last fall, and they are ready to begin preparing for the 2015-2016 season. There will be an informational parents’ meeting in the Commons area on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m.
Although the tryouts will not take place until April 13-16, junior varsity coach Ms. Juli Kobielusz is already excited.
“The tryouts will be open to any male or female that meets all MSHSAA qualifications,” Kobielusz said. “No experience is needed, but we want people who will be coachable.”
She encourages boys to participate and said that colleges love to give out scholarships to male cheerleaders.
The tryouts will take place during the above dates, and will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. All tryouts will take place in the multipurpose room.
“People should sign up if they want to get involved in something that is like a family,” Kobilusz said. “It acts like a support system.”
