Mary Mbugua is a senior at Pattonville High School. She is proud to be president of the International Club. She is also involved in Recycling and in Caring for Others.
Mayte Santos: What are members doing?
Mary Mbugua: “We have been working on pinatas. We are also getting ready for International Day in April. We are coming up with dances, a fashion show, and a musical.”
MS: What is International Club about?
MM: “It’s about meeting people, learning about where they are from, learning about different cultures, and having fun. We also always have snacks every meeting after school. It helps to bring us together.”
MS: How can students join?
MM: “It is very easy to join. All you have to do is come to the meetings and participate. We meet every other Wednesday after school and every other Thursday during Contact Time. Everyone is more than welcome to come. We are like a family.” (Meetings are held in Ms. Fields’s room)
MS: What is the next planned activity the club is doing?
MM: “For our next meeting we are going to plan for International Day.”
MS: How does it feel to be president of International Club?
MM: “It feels great! I get to come up with plans and activities along with the other leaders.”
MS: Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t asked you about?
MM: “I would like to thanks Ms. Fields for being a great sponsor.”
