Mrs. Sarah Guilfoyle is an English teacher at PHS who said that while growing up her biggest influence were her parents.
“My mom especially since she spent the most time with me and taught me the most,” Guilfoyle expressed.
She has been teaching for 10 years. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher, even in high school. But she was still indecisive about the subject she wanted to teach. Her parents, who were also her heroes, had the greatest influence on her. Both of them were also teachers.
Guilfoyle said, “I felt that’s what I was supposed to do.”
In high school she was involved in cheerleading, student council, NHS and a youth group called Young Life. Besides that, she enjoyed reading “Babysitter’s Club” and listening to the 80s group New Kids on the Block.
Guilfoyle’s childhood admiration was Judy Garland in her favorite movie “The Wizard of Oz.” But the happiest day of her childhood she said was the joy she had when she visited Disney World with her parents and grandparents.
