Students in Pattonville High School are preparing themselves for finals week. Each student has a different plan for getting ready and studying.
Sophomores have their own ways of preparing for finals.
Alissa Keller mentions she plans on looking over the reviews her teachers give her to study.
“I’m going to study the parts I don’t know then work my way up to the parts that I do know and understand. I’m probably going to start next week so I have enough time to retain all of it,” she said.
Melissa Dougan, also a sophomore, plans on doing much of the same as Keller.
“I’m also going to make sure to get plenty of sleep the days leading up to and during finals.”
Freshmen have a way of getting ready for finals. This will be just their second time taking finals in high school.
Carrie Mills said she’d like to work with a group. “I’ll study the material, then ask anyone around me to quiz me over it, and I’ll do that as often as I can.”
Zoey Dye plans on reading over notes from the past semester. “I’ll read over the notes, putting things into my own words.”
Tori Stickman mentions how she wants to get prepared. “I’m going to study a lot! I’ll get a lot of sleep and eat a good breakfast.”
Studying for juniors is not as new to them as it is to freshman and sophomores.
Angela Linder said she’ll be going over the notes that she typed up. “I’ll study them a lot, I guess. Or I’ll explode,” she joked.
Jennifer Parker states that she also plans on having a study sessions with her friends to better prepare herself. “I plan on reviewing past homework and notes and doing the study guides.”
Senior Nick Earhart is in his final year of high school and he makes known his study methods for his years in high school. “I’d take notes for the main sections and review them two or three times a week before finals.”
He also gives advice for some students new to taking finals.
“Ask the teachers if you can copy the tests you’ve already taken so you can study those and you know what you should work on.”
