Sade Boyles introducing National Art Honor Society in G108

Giving students an opportunity to be more creative with their art work, the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) also offers a chance for students to be recognized for their talents.

Sade Boyles (12) is the new president this year and has many plans and activities for NAHS.

“I want this year to be enjoyable and productive,” Boyles said. “I want us to accomplish more than last year, but also have fun since it’s about being together and promoting creativity and art in our community.”

Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of the month.

Some requirements to remain active as a member are students must maintain a “B” average or higher in art classes, students must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or better, and all members that join must pay $10 for National dues and a T-shirt.

This is the second year that NAHS has been at Pattonville and the members will be moving much faster with projects and community service. Last year was their trial year and for getting the hang of things. This year, NAHS will be doing more projects this year.

Returning member, Tabitha Dwyer (10), is really set on a few ideas that the officers came up with last year and into this year.

“I’m excited because we want to do a mural in the art wing and possibly paint parking lot spaces for seniors,” Dwyer said.

For more information, the next meeting is Sept. 6 in G108.
