Ashley Chilton is No. 11 on the Pattonville field hockey team, and she loves One Direction. She gets pumped up for games by listening to 1D.
Chilton’s not involved in many clubs, because she’s involved in “just sports right now,” she said.
A word Chilton used to describe herself as is “happy, because life’s just good, and I like to laugh and have fun.”
Field hockey is a new sport available at Pattonville. There are about 20 girls on the team and is made-up of freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
To play field hockey, you have to wear shin guards, eye goggles and a mouth guard. It’s played with a stick that looks like a candy cane and a little ball.
The first home field hockey game was Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. and the entire field hockey schedule can be found here. The team is coached by Coach Shelley Ewig, a Spanish teacher at the high school, and Coach Jessica Dalton, a teacher at Heights.
