The opening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has been long awaited and is finally here.

“People should come see the show to support everyone who has spent the past few months creating this fantastic show,” Tessa Stahlhut, a junior playing Mrs. Gloop in the production said.

Senior Kyle Baldwin plays Augustus Gloop in the production.

“It’s a great twist on the classic and new versions of the movie and it has many comical elements for a hilarious show.”

Both cast members are really excited for the show.

“I’m excited to see how everyone reacts,” Stahlhut said. “Willy Wonka has been a classic story for decades. Many generations love it and I’m excited to see what our audiences think of what we put together.”

Baldwin said he’s finally ready to share the show with an audience.

“I am excited to build a family setting with my final cast as a member of the Pirate Players and getting to put on a production that we have worked so long and hard on together,” Baldwin said.

The musical will be performed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $3 for children/students and $5 for adults.
