Lasting friendships can be a difficult thing to find in highschool. Although, this is certainly not the case for the girls golf team. The team consists of 11 girls of all grades. From practicing everyday after school together, to going on food runs, the girls are inseparable.
“My teammates are my favorite part of playing golf because they make it fun,” senior Lexi Sunderman said.
Throughout the season, the girls participate in many matches against different schools. These tournaments open opportunities to meet other golfers from around the St. Louis area.
“My favorite part of golf matches is trying to fit as many girls as possible on a golf cart without flipping it,” senior Cameryn Neumann said.
“I chose to play golf because I wanted to try something new since it’s my last year of highschool. Playing golf gave me the opportunity to make new friends and have a good time doing so,” Sunderman said.
Zelletta Wyatt has been playing golf her whole life. This year was her third season playing for Pattonville.
“I think I will be playing golf forever because I have come to realize that I can get really far and accomplish big things from it,” Wyatt said.
Out of the 11 girls, four of them are seniors. Tehya CoxPotter, Cameryn Neuman, Lexi Sunderman, and Jennean Barghouty.
“I am so happy I joined the golf team,” Neumann said. “I feel like I am living out my senior year fully and I am glad I get to make these lasting memories with my teammates.”
