After becoming an award-selling book, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is coming to theaters again in a remake of the 1974 film. May 10 2013, Leonardo DiCaprio will hit the screen as Jay Gatsby. Tobey Maguire plays the main character, Nick Carraway, and Carey Mulligan plays Daisy. As someone who is considered “new money”, Nick’s neighbor Gatsby and his cousin Daisy have history that will cause a lot of turmoil. The novel is required in most schools in their English classes so this movie coming out is a big deal. The English teachers are more than excited. Mrs. Adam, English teacher, “I’m really curious to see how they portray Daisy because Fitzgerald makes Daisy’s voice sound enticing but in the 1974 version her voice is very annoying.” It is hard to tell how well the movie will match with the novel, but either way it is bound to be a hit when it does hit theaters.
